Underwater volcano eruption in the Canary Islands


Earthquakes continued to Alheiro Island, one of the Spanish Canary Islands after a volcanic eruption under the ocean surface, just five kilometers from the southern coast. It scored the National Geographic Institute of Spain strongly earthquakes of 1.6 and 2.3 on the Richter scale.




The eruptions were monitored at a depth of about 900 meters on Monday and is expected to continue for about a week. Officials said the eruption does not pose a threat to the lives of the island's 10 thousand people exercising their lives normally.
